Christopher has served in various senior management capacities at both local RIA firms and national trust companies. He spent more than 18 years at Miller/Russell in Phoenix, where he was instrumental in building the firm from the ground up to over $1.8 Billion of AUM while serving as Chief Investment, Operations & Compliance Officer. At Ashton Thomas, he provides Arizona’s marketplace the opportunity to tap into a national firm, with much greater depth of professional services, investment experience and human capital capabilities. As a lifelong Arizonan he is well known in the community, having served as past president of the Arizona Treasury Management Association, Member of Western Pension & Benefits Council, Board Member of the American Red Cross, Chair of Investment Committee for the Arizona Chapter of the American Red Cross, Fiesta Bowl Committee Member, Sun Angel Foundation Member and various church outreach and service-related groups. Additionally, Christopher has served as a guest lecturer for fiduciary training and investment management best practices at Arizona State University’s W.P. Carey School of Business MBA Program, Thunderbird International School of Management, and the W.A. Franke School of Business at Northern Arizona University. Christopher served on advisory boards building strategic relationships with The Frank Russell Company, Callan & Associates and Capital Research & Management Company. Christopher received a bachelor’s of science degree in business marketing and finance from Arizona State University and an MBA (in finance) with honors from Northern Arizona University. He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) professional and holds the Accredited Investment Fiduciary® (AIF®) professional designation from the Center for Fiduciary Studies, which is associated with the University of Pittsburgh. The AIF® designation certifies he has specialized knowledge of fiduciary standards of care and their application to the investment management process. He has also received formal training in investment fiduciary responsibility, advanced portfolio risk management strategies and closed-end fund evaluations from the Income Institute of America. He has served as a guest presenter at national investment conferences, fiduciary training seminars and corporate retirement educational meetings. With many clients and contacts in Arizona, his extensive experience includes serving as advisor to Native American Tribal Nations. He resides in Scottsdale with his wife of almost 30 years and his three daughters.
