Marti Bryant specializes in working with people who are close to retirement or already retired, educating people regarding their Social Security benefits, and creating income plans that maximize their retirement savings and income in the most tax-efficient manner. In fact, Marti has been a tax advisor for more than 20 years, and she always considers taxation and inflation when advising clients. Marti is a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst (CDFA®) and works with attorneys in their efforts to create fair and equitable settlements during divorce.
Marti’s approach to retirement planning is “safety first” as she endeavors to protect investments against market volatility. Understanding her client’s temperament for risk, Marti helps design customized and trackable plans.
With more than 12 years serving as a Wealth Advisor, Marti understands the importance of her role. “You don’t know what you don’t know. There are many intricate details when money, life insurance, securities, and retirement accounts are involved. If you don’t have the correct information on how to transfer wealth, there is potential for financial disaster. And, the federal and state powers-that-be could be at your doorstep looking for ‘their’ share if you don’t plan accordingly,” she says.
Working at Ashton Thomas suits her because “being an independent advisor allows me to offer unbiased advice without an agenda or judgment.” She takes a lot of time to learn about her clients. “I learn their hopes and dreams, what they want their life to include, and if they want to leave a legacy when they pass. What is important to them allows me to build a financial plan that is much more meaningful. There is purpose and intent,” Marti says.
The personal touch is very real with Marti, as all her clients have her cell phone number. She says, “If there is an emergency, they all have a ‘What-to-Do-in-An-Emergency’ sheet which I have personalized for them. We have as many meetings as they need, whether on Skype or GoToMeeting and, of course, face-to-face. I have a lot of meetings in my client’s homes.”
Not only does Marti attend continuing education classes required by her licenses, she says, “I continually educate myself. The sheer complexity of the many aspects of my profession requires constant education in order to keep up with the changing financial landscape.”
Marti has two grown sons, a 15-year-old daughter, two grandsons and a granddaughter. Born in Hawaii to a Navy pilot, Marti lived in many places around the world until finally settling in Arizona. As a result, she has many diverse interests, from golf and motocross, to the opera and theatre. You never know where she may turn up.
