Abby’s journey from the classrooms of Tennessee to her current role as Tax Operations and Administrative Specialist at Ashton Thomas reflects a commitment to both personal growth and professional excellence.

“What I enjoy most is the chance to apply my diverse background in a new context,” she says. “I'm excited to leverage my experience to provide exceptional client experiences and build strong, lasting relationships.”

Originally from Lebanon, Tennessee – a small town east of Nashville – Abby moved to Murfreesboro, Tennessee, to attend college, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in interdisciplinary studies K-6 from Middle Tennessee State University in 2016. She then relocated to Chattanooga for three years before finding her current home in Bozeman, Montana, in 2021.

Following her passion for education, Abby spent the first five years of her career teaching kindergarten and first grade. While she cherished her time in the classroom, she sought a profession that offered a more sustainable work-life balance, leading her to transition into a new field.

Abby found that new path through a construction company, where she honed her skills in project management by overseeing more than 30 projects simultaneously, optimizing team efficiency, and ensuring clear communication with clients and stakeholders. Abby’s leadership and adaptability soon earned her a promotion to head the company’s HR department, where she was instrumental in developing comprehensive training programs, establishing new policies, and building the position from the ground up.

Now at Ashton Thomas, Abby is eager to apply her diverse background in tax operations and administration to helping clients and collaborating with colleagues on our growing tax team.

Outside of work, Abby enjoys immersing herself in the outdoors, whether it’s fishing, camping, or simply walking with her mini goldendoodle, Tucker. She also has a passion for reading and writing, and treasures the time spent with her friends and family.
