With more than 25 years as an independent advisor, Karen McDade is a second generation Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®) who is inspired by helping her clients discover and reach their goals. “My emphasis is on helping people simplify the confusion around their complex financial lives and deliver meaningful solutions.” Karen explains. Her commitment to maintaining a high level of technical and professional knowledge, coupled with her focused dedication to her clients’ success, make her an invaluable advisor to high-net-worth families and small organizations alike.
Karen is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Financial Consulting. In addition to being a CFP® professional, Karen has attained the Accredited Investment Fiduciary® (AIF®), which represents a thorough knowledge of fiduciary best practices. In 2017, she furthered her education by obtaining the Certified Divorce Financial Analyst (CDFA®) designation to more proficiently assist clients experiencing major life transitions.
In September 2015, Karen was named a “Five Star Wealth Manager” by Phoenix Magazine. Karen served on the National Board of Directors for the Financial Planning Association® (FPA®) from 2019-2022. As part of the National Board, Karen helped guide the FPA toward its ongoing objective to be the recognized home for CFP® professionals.
Involved in the community, Karen has served on the Financial Literacy Board for the Girl Scouts Arizona Cactus-Pine Council since 2013. She is passionate about financial education, which prompted her engagement in advocacy and pro bono work within the FPA of Greater Phoenix.
Karen is an avid runner, with over 15 marathons to her credit. Her husband, John, shares her interest for running and is a managing editor within the iHeartMedia family of companies. Karen and John have one daughter, Ella and their family is rounded out by Max, the dog Ella fell in love with at a local animal shelter.
