AJ Shurts serves as Vice President of Business Development at Ashton Thomas Private Wealth. He previously served on the Advisor Acquisition and Product team at Rockefeller Capital Management in New York City, equipping him with valuable insights into the ecosystem of a successful wealth advisory and private family office enterprise.

Leveraging his experience in wealth management, AJ drives strategic growth and expansion for the firm, including engaging top-tier advisor teams and family offices seeking to join Ashton Thomas. Applying his insights to the recruitment and due diligence process, AJ helps lead the firm’s efforts in the acquisition of advisor teams ranging from the captive wirehouses to the independent channel.

AJ earned his Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from Texas Christian University (TCU) and holds a FINRA Series 7 registered representative license.

AJ currently splits his time between his primary residence in New York City and his hometown of Scottsdale, AZ. He and his family are dedicated to philanthropy and community engagement, and are actively involved with Phoenix Suns Charities, Phoenix Children’s Hospital, and the Arians Family Foundation. AJ prioritizes giving back to his community, aligning his values with meaningful, ongoing contributions. Beyond his professional career, he finds passion in activities such as golf, skiing, and traveling, as well as cherishing moments shared with friends and family, most notably his younger brother, Jaxon.
