Bratton DuBose, CFP®, joined Ashton Thomas in 2019.
A South Carolina native and alumnus of Clemson University, Bratton was attracted to the “fresh air, clean water and mountains” of Montana as a college student. Working as a ranch hand during school, Bratton fell in love with Big Sky Country. After graduating with a degree in economics and accounting, he explored several career options and chose to be a financial advisor with DA Davidson in Cody, Wyoming. A short time later, Bratton relocated from Wyoming to Bozeman.
Although he liked serving his clients, Bratton was concerned by the lack of consistency and discipline within the brokerage industry at that time. He briefly considered following in the footsteps of his father, an internal medicine physician, and began applying for medical school. However, after meeting a Spokane-area CFP® Professional who greatly influenced his thinking, Bratton decided to reorganize his advisory practice and pursue his CFP® designation. “I saw how a focus on continuous process improvement in financial planning, investment due diligence and portfolio management could lead to better outcomes for clients.”
After attaining his CFP® designation, Bratton joined Wells Fargo Advisors, where he met private banker and advisor Daniel Bettencourt. Becca Dammann, who had previously worked with Bratton at DA Davidson, re-joined him at Wells Fargo in 2016. During this time, they grew into one of the largest advisory practices in the Bozeman area. The team joined Ashton Thomas in 2019 to refocus on what matters most to them and to their clients.
“We aspire to excellence every day,” says Bratton. “Our aim is to consistently deliver that level of excellence to our clients. We really enjoy working with our clients and appreciate the strong relationships we have. We made this move to get back to basics with our practice: to make sure everything we do leads to maximizing client outcomes.”
Bratton has been married to his wife, Kelly, for more than two decades. Together, they have two sons, Hans and Bratton V. The family enjoys being on the lake during summer weekends. Bratton also enjoys skiing, hiking, mountain biking and scuba diving with his family and friends.
Bratton and Kelly have made the Bozeman area their permanent home.
