Jason Buchanan joined Ashton Thomas in 2020 as a Wealth Advisor. Previously, he was a Private Client Advisor with JPMorgan Chase Bank.
Jason grew up in a small town in Ohio just south of Columbus. A “big Buckeyes fan,” he played football in high school and participated in 4-H. Jason attended Ohio University, starting off as a biology and pre-dentistry major. He decided to change paths while in school, graduating with a BA in Economics in 2004. Jason immediately pursued graduate studies, completing his Master of Financial Economics degree at Ohio University in 2006.
After obtaining his master’s degree, Jason decided to look elsewhere geographically to begin his career. Like many transplanted residents of the Grand Canyon State, he admits he moved to Arizona from the Midwest, “to get away from the cold.” He took a position with JP Morgan Chase as a branch banker and was soon promoted to a manager role. Jason officially became a financial advisor with the bank in 2011.
“I’ve understood how money works from a young age,” he says of why he become a client-facing financial advisor. “I love helping people achieve their goals and dreams.” To that end, in 2016, Jason decided to become a CFP® Professional to “stand out among his peers” in the industry.
Jason has been married to his wife, Bridget, since 2013. They have two young sons who keep them very busy. Jason volunteers regularly in his local church community and enjoys the occasional off-roading adventure or downhill ski trip.
