Julie Hendrickson
Client Service Associate

After an admirable career with one financial institution through its various iterations, Julie joined Ashton Thomas Private Wealth as a Client Service Associate in its Helena, Montana, office in 2021.

Julie began her career in banking with Norwest predecessor Union Bank and Trust in 1979.  Julie worked through various roles and the subsequent mergers and acquisitions leading up to the acquisition of the Union Trust Company by Norwest. After the Norwest acquisition, Julie became head of the investment operations department. Subsequently, Julie was promoted to Portfolio Manager. When Norwest purchased Wells Fargo in 1998, Julie began working for the mutual fund team at Wells Capital Management. After the merger of the Norwest and Evergreen Funds (now Wells Fargo Advantage Funds) Julie retired—for the first time—in August 2012 as a result of that combination.

In 2016, Julie ran into Wells Fargo financial advisor Martin Lewis in a social setting, and Martin was able to convince Julie to come back to the firm and work in the Fiduciary and Trust Services group based in Helena. “I was working the day Michael Wong and Martin Lewis came and interviewed as graduates fresh from college,” Julie recalls. “I’ve known both Michael and Martin for many years.” She became Michael’s full-time client associate in 2019, a role she held until joining Ashton Thomas.

Julie, a native Montanan, has been married to her husband, Don, for 35 years. Together, they have four daughters who are “wonderful, successful adults.” They also have seven grandchildren, with another on the way. Julie and Don are “very outdoors oriented” and enjoy camping, fishing, hiking, ATV riding, and “basically anything we can fit into a day outdoors in Montana,” she says. Julie and Don are also owners of a small business, Hendrickson Aviation, a service where Don provides scenic air tours of southwest Montana in their 1979 Citabria airplane. As Julie sums it up, “We are very grateful for what we have and where we live.”
