Katie Leech, a Senior Private Client Tax Advisor with Ashton Thomas Tax Advisory, is based in the firm’s Cherry Creek office in Denver, Colorado. She leads client tax engagements, including tax planning and analysis as well as tax filings for high-net-worth clients, she also serves as a resource to other members of the Tax Advisory team.

Katie is a proud native of Kansas City, and she has always had a deep-rooted passion for her hometown’s cherished NFL team, the Chiefs. Raised in a close-knit family, she cherishes the bonds that tie her family together to this day.

Katie attended the University of Kansas, graduating in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting, thus setting the stage for her career in the world of finance and taxation. Her educational journey also took her to the CIMBA School of Business in Italy, where she embarked on a transformative summer semester, broadening her horizons and expanding her global perspective.

Katie’s twenties were marked by a time of exploration, with moves to Washington, DC, Denver, Colorado, New York City, then back to Denver. Professionally, Katie’s journey spans a spectrum of functional and industry specialties, from high-net-worth individual tax to travel and accommodation tax, and even the intricacies of hedge fund tax. It was during her tenure as a Tax Manager with Inspirato where she honed her skills in international tax compliance, navigating the nuances of non-U.S. tax regulation. Katie obtained the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation in 2016 as a testament to her ongoing pursuit of professional acumen. The intricate world of tax law and its practical application is an ongoing topic of interest for Katie. “I enjoy helping businesses and individuals navigate the complex world of tax in the pursuit of their financial goals,” says Katie.
