Taylor Knight

Associate, Private Wealth Client Services

Taylor is a Client Service Associate in the firm’s Scottsdale Headquarters office. He joined the firm as an Advanced Planning Intern under Murray Smith in 2019 and transitioned to the full-time service role in 2021 after completing his internship.

From a young age, Taylor was exposed to the daily life of a Wealth Advisor through his father, Managing Wealth Advisor, Lance Knight. As Taylor grew older, this exposure developed into an aspiration to become an advisor himself. Knowing he wanted to pursue a career in financial services, Taylor was encouraged by his father to pursue the internship with Ashton Thomas while in college.

While Taylor has a knack for finance, his real passion in life (and also following in his father’s footsteps) always been putting on a pair of skates, gearing up with stick in hand, and hitting the ice. “I’ve been playing hockey my whole life,” he says. “I still enjoy playing today and hopefully will be able to continue playing for a long time.” During his senior year of high school, Taylor moved to Seattle to play in a junior hockey league in the Pacific Northwest. After spending a year in Seattle, moved to Aspen, Colorado, where he continued playing junior hockey. Taylor’s teams won their respective league championships both years and, during his second season of junior hockey in Aspen, he served as the team’s captain.

Taylor returned to Arizona after playing hockey for two years and attended the University of Arizona (UofA) in Tucson. During his collegiate years, Taylor became one of the founding fathers of the fraternity, Tau Kappa Epsilon (TKE). In addition to being a founding father, he also served as Treasurer where he was assigned the task of purchasing a house for the fraternity. As one might expect, Taylor played hockey for UofA, also playing roller hockey for the school in the off-season. He received a bachelor’s degree in Personal and Family Financial Planning in 2021 and was one of the first graduates of the school’s new financial planning program. The program UofA was started with the assistance and input of the Financial Planning Association, a professional industry organization to which Ashton Thomas has regularly dedicated support and resources.

When Taylor is not working, you can still find him on the ice playing hockey in a local adult hockey league. He also enjoys participating in outdoor activities, working on almost anything with an engine, spending time with his family, or playing with his two dogs, Avie and Squire. Taylor is currently studying to sit for the Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) exam.
